How to Feel Better When You Are Feeling Blue

lifestyle

There might be a time that you are feeling blue. You feel like you are stuck in the darkest place. You also feel tired. You don’t want to do anything. You lost your mojo. You have a hard time getting motivated to move on with your day. You want to yell and scream out loud, and you feel like you are stuck in quicksand. The more you try to move out of it, the more you sink into that feeling. If you follow the 8 steps, you will feel better fast.

Here are 8 steps to help you feel better when you are feeling blue.

  1. Let go of the past. Whatever happened yesterday or 5 years ago, forgive yourself, forgive the person or the situation and Let It Go!
  2. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile.
  3. Get your body moving. Turn on your favorite playlist (ex: Shake It Off by Taylor Swift) and move your body. Go workout. Go for a run. Do whatever keeps you moving.
  4. Drink plenty of water. It would help if you drank half of your body weight every day to stay hydrated. You will feel refresh as well.
  5. Practice mindfulness. You can meditate or even just sit quietly, close your eyes, focus on your breathing, and quiet your mind for 5 minutes.
  6. Check in with your feeling. Allow yourself to feel your feeling.
  7. Journal your thought and practice gratitude. Take a few minutes to jot down every little thing that you are grateful for at this moment.
  8. Get enough sleep (at least 7 hrs - 8 hrs per night). You will feel refreshed the next day when you wake up. When you feel refresh, you can start a brand-new day with a positive attitude.
